So, we spent the evening at eTown in Boulder last nite and got to catch up with our good friends, ALO and catch some fresh new (for us) music from Kate Earl. First off, eTown is a weekly radio broadcast heard from coast to coast on NPR, public and commercial radio stations. Every eTown show is taped in front of a live audience and features performances from many of today’s top musical artists as well as conversations and information about the world around us. This was our first experience at the new eTown Hall – which in it’s previous life was a church. Now, although still zoned only as a place of worship, and after an ordaining as a minister by host and musical director, Nick Forster, eTown Hall became a solar powered hall committed to environmental education, creative discourse and good music.
It was great to catch up with ALO – man, what an amazingly talented group of musicians. And, as expected, they killed it. They recently launched a new “Hot Tub Club”, which is an exclusive membership to special shows, rare and unreleased recordings from the ALO catalog and more. Definitely worth checking out.
And, we were introduced to Kate Earl. What a voice – definitely worth snagging her newly released album, Stronger – which, ironically, comes out today. The song playing (Loyalty) is a cut from the new album – powerful stuff.
