Historically, Sept 1 is always the first day of the dolphin slaughter in Japan. However, since the world’s awakening, the small town of Taiji, Japan has been under international scrutiny. And, today, with world wide media in town to document the annual slaughter of tens of thousands of dolphins in “the cove“, incredibly, the cove was empty. Due in large part to the herculean efforts of the film crew of “The Cove” who went through the efforts of hiding cameras (underwater even) and recorders all around the cove and town to thoroughly document the horrific events as they unfolded.
You can read more about the latest events here. Let’s hope that the cove remains empty tomorrow.
