In 1978 a few "crazy" men toed the line at Waikiki Beach and launched what has become arguably one of the most challenging one day endurance events in the world. The original Hawaiian Ironman race was held on the island of Oahu in 1978. The course combining that of three events already held there: the Waikiki Roughwater Swim (2.4 mi./3.86 km), the Around-Oahu Bike Race (115 mi./185.07 km, originally a two-day event), and the Honolulu Marathon. The bike stage was reduced by 3 miles to link it to the start of the marathon course.

In honor of those nuts and all who have followed in their footsteps, our Hawaii 78 tee pays tribute to the long line of athletes that have toed the line through the years. Original EC art on our ridiculously soft heather berry tee. It feels soft and lightweight, with the right amount of stretch. It's comfortable and flattering for both men and women.
